Islamic Studies

The aim of the Islamic Studies program is to provide students with basic Islamic knowledge, help them develop their Islamic personalities as well as giving them practical guides to conduct their lives based on Islamic teachings and values.

Currently, we are using the series of “I love Islam” published by the Islamic Services Foundation as our main resource material.

The main strands of the program are:

Beliefs (Aqaaed): In a simplified method and an appropriate language, it features the main pillars of belief according to the Islamic doctrine:
  • The oneness of God and his attributes
  • The angels
  • The holy books
  • The prophets and messengers of God (Peace be upon them)
  • The day after
  • The destiny (Al-Qada’a Wa Al-qadar)

Fiqh (Jurisprudence): It deals with the most important acts of worship (prayer, fasting, pilgrimage or Hajj) as well as other issues related to the Muslim daily life, such as alms giving, food & drinks, etc.

Manners (Akhlaq): It illustrates the key values and manners such as integrity, respect, courage, patience, etc. It also provides practical ideas of how to make that part of a Muslim daily life.

Biographies (Siyyar): It focuses on the main events and the lessons that can be drawn out of the lives of:
  • Prophet Mohammed (PBUH)
  • Other prophets and messengers (PBUT),
  • The companions of the prophet (May Allah be pleased with them).
  • Important figures in the Islamic history, such as the Imams of the four Madhahib.

The program also includes a beautiful selection of Quranic verses and prophet’s traditions (Ahaadith).
