ABRAAR SCHOOL ADMISSION POLICY:
- Registration of new students is on first come first served basis, except for staff children and children with siblings in the school.
- Children are placed according to their age (number of years as up to Dec 31st).
- Abraar school does not have the facilities to accommodate special need students (gifted and children with learning and physical disabilities).
- Students coming from other schools must have an overall C average in core subjects (math and English) in their most recent reports cards.
- Students coming from abroad will be assessed in math and English before being placed on the relevant grades based on their age.
- Assessments of the Welcome Centre may be taken into consideration for under age students coming from abroad, however if the performance for one full term in core subjects is below the provincial standard (B), students may be demoted.
- Registration will not be considered final until full fees are paid and a form requesting the transfer of the OSR from the child's previous school is signed.
- All new students will be automatically put on a two months probation period.
To process the Application, you must have the following:
1. Completed the application form with all the relevant information. Please do not leave any blanks.
2. Provide 2 passport size photographs of the student.
3. Provide a copy of the student's birth certificate.
4. Provide a copy of the student's vaccination certificate.
5. Canadian Citizens born outside of Canada, and Landed Immigrants: Provide a copy of the student's Citizenship or Landed Immigrant Certificate.
6. International students: Provide a copy of the student's passport with valid Visa.
7. Provide student's last report card .
8. Provide Application Fees.
9. Application fee must be payable by cash or
check with todays date (no posted checks for the application fees).
10. Application will NOT be processed with out
proper application fee.
11. Submit your application with the required
attachments to the school administration office.
12. You can mail the application and its
attachments to the school mailing address.
13. If needed, parents/guardians will be contacted for screening interviews.
14. Parents/guardians will be contacted as soon as there is a vacancy to confirm the acceptance of their application and to complete their registration by signing the school contract.
15. Parents/guardians of accepted students are requested to provide ten (10) posted cheques
all dated with the first day of the month. Any other additional fees will be collected separately during the first week of the academic year. For more details on school fees, please refer to the “School Fees” section below.
