POSITION: Part-Time Pedagogue

Abraar (Independent Islamic) School seeks to fill in the following position for the upcoming school year 2008-09.

Job Title: Educational Adviser

Hours: 10-12 hours per week

Duties:

• Participate in development and evaluation of educational programs.
• Participate in supervision, coaching, and evaluation of staff members.
• Assist in interviewing, selecting, and orienting new staff.
• Prepare and conduct workshops during PD days
• Prepare and conduct additional workshops as needed throughout the school year
• Coach the teachers to develop and execute Long Range, Unit, and Daily plans as requested by the principal
• Conduct regular visits to the classrooms and share the observations with the principal
• Develop and discuss with the principal strategic plans to improve the school numeracy and literacy programs
• Advise the principal and the teachers on the best resources to use
• Develop an induction program for the new teachers.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor of Education (Priority for members or ex-members of Ontario College of Teachers)

Experience:

• Minimum 10 years experience in elementary education.

POSITION: Elementary & Intermediate Divisions Teachers

Required Qualifications, Skills and Experience

• University degree
• Bachelor of Education; priority for members of Ontario College of Teachers.
• Minimum of two years of teaching experience (Asset)
• Sound knowledge of Islamic faith and practice

POSITION: Kindergarten Teachers

Required Qualifications, Skills and Experience

• ECE or Bachelor of Education; priority for members of Ontario College of Teachers.
• Minimum of two years of teaching experience (Asset)
• Sound knowledge of Islamic faith and practice

POSITION: French Teachers

Required Qualifications, Skills and Experience

• University degree (preferably in French language and literature)
• A teaching qualification; priority for members of Ontario College of Teachers (Asset)
• Minimum of two years of teaching experience (Asset)
• Impeccable communication skills in both Englis & French
• Sound knowledge of Islamic faith and practice

POSITION: Arabic Teachers

Required Qualifications, Skills and Experience

• University degree (preferably in Arabic language and literature)
• Minimum of two years of teaching experience (Asset)
• Impeccable communication skills in standard Arabic
• Sound knowledge of Islamic faith and practice

POSITION: Teaching Assistants

Required Qualifications, Skills and Experience

• High School Diploma
• Enjoys working with children aged 2.5 to 6 years old
• Minimum of two years of teaching experience (Asset)
• Strong English communication skills
• Sound knowledge of Islamic faith and practice
