Abraar students have been demonstrating a high level of achievements in most of the regional and provincial competitions that they take part in:

- Ottawa Regional Spelling Bee Competition (March 2008):
R L, a Grade 8 student, made it to the six round of the final competition.  It is worth mentioning that 15, 700 students took part in this competition and only sixty of them were selected to the final regional competition.

- Ottawa Regional Science Fair (April 2008):
Group of grade 7 & 8 students participated in The Ottawa Regional Science Fair, held on April 05 at Carleton University.  N H& ZA, from Gr. 8 won a bronze medal for their project: « Got DNA ».  MH & RL, from Gr. 7 obtained the Honorary Mention for their project: « Push It Back », which explains the theory of how to stop an asteroid from hitting the earth.

- The Ottawa Robotics Competition (May 2008):
Abraar team won the top prize of the junior competition and came back with a free NXT kit and a trophy with our school name engraved on it.

- EQAO (June 2008):
For the first time, Abraar School got 100% in this very important provincial contest.
